Player Assessments ensure all children are placed in the correct division and that teams are balanced and fair

🎯 Purpose of the Assessment
- Match players to the appropriate division based on skill, experience, and safety.
- Help coaches create balanced, competitive teams during the player draft.
- Track player development over time for growth and All-Star eligibility.
🧢 What Happens During the Assessment
Players rotate through several stations where league volunteers and coaches observe basic baseball skills:

Accuracy and arm strength when throwing to a target. |
| Catching |
Fielding grounders and catching pop flies. |
| Hitting |
Batting stance, swing mechanics, and ability to make contact. |
| Running |
Speed and coordination when running the bases. |
| Pitching/Catching |
Optional for older players who want to be evaluated at these positions. |
🧒 Who Attends
- Required: Players in player-pitch divisions (Minors AA/AAA, Majors, Juniors, Seniors).
- Not Required: T-Ball and Coach Pitch players (these are instructional, non-assessment divisions).
📋 After the Assessment
- Coaches use evaluation results during the player draft to form balanced teams.
- Players are notified of team placement shortly after the draft.
- Everyone is placed on a team—no one is “cut.”
💬 Helpful Tips for Parents
- Arrive early for check-in and warm-up.
- Bring a glove, helmet, and bat (if available).
- Encourage your player to relax and have fun—it’s about learning, not perfection!
- Coaches understand players may be nervous; the goal is fair placement for safety and enjoyment.
